Otoplasty is designed to improve the shape, position, or prominence of the ears to create better facial balance and proportion.

Prominent or asymmetrical ears can affect overall facial harmony and, for some patients, contribute to long-term self-consciousness.

At You Are Beautiful, otoplasty is approached with precision and restraint to create natural-looking refinement while preserving normal ear anatomy and balance.

During your consultation, Dr. Jae Kim evaluates:

  • Ear projection and prominence
  • Symmetry and contour
  • Cartilage structure and support
  • Facial balance and proportion
  • Desired degree of correction

This allows for a customized surgical plan designed to improve balance and contour while maintaining natural-looking results.

The goal is subtle refinement—not an overcorrected or overly pinned appearance.

Procedure Snapshot

Starting Investment: Bilateral otoplasty starting at $8,000

Procedure Setting: Typically performed in-office under local anesthesia.

For pediatric patients approximately 14 years old or younger, the procedure is typically performed at the hospital under general anesthesia. Additional anesthesia and facility fees will apply.

Estimated Downtime: Approximately 7–10 days

Procedure Length: Approximately 90 minutes

Recovery and Healing

Most patients experience:

  • Swelling
  • Mild bruising
  • Temporary tenderness or tightness

during the initial healing period.

Patients will wear a protective wrap during the first week following surgery to support healing and protect the ears.

While healing varies by patient, most patients feel socially presentable within approximately 7–10 days.

Subtle settling and refinement continue gradually over the following weeks.

Surgical Consultations

Dr. Jae Kim’s surgical consultations are $250.

The consultation fee is non-refundable, but may be applied toward surgical fees if surgery is scheduled within 30 days of the initial consultation.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kim for Asian eyelid surgery (upper eyelid blepharoplasty)!!! My results turned out better than I could have ever imagined.
